The MAINSOURCE Architecture
In 1991 a fortune 50 company started building a major new infrastructure product to address the emerging need for comprehensive management of complex data types. The goals of the project were indexing, storing, linking and retrieving of data , any type, any size, anywhere. Later, the engineers who lead the project acquired the rights to the software and formed Mainsource. The resulting product which was complete in the late 90's is a broad architecture, engineered to meet all of the original goals. This architecture has at its core the following unique features that differentiate it from other systems:
